Minoru Hayashi was born in 1967 and raised in Kyoto, Japan. After receiving his PhD in Engineering at Kyoto University of in 1995 under the supervision of Prof. Yoshihiko Ito, he moved to Prof. Kazuhiko Saigo’s group at the University of Tokyo as an assistant professor. He moved to Ehime University in 2000 as a Lecturer, promoted to associate professor (2005) then professor (2020). His current research activities are currently centered in the field of organic synthesis including phosphine atoms and related fields such as transition-metal catalysis, asymmetric synthesis, polymers, and π-systems with phosphine atoms.
