Professor Dariusz Witt

Gdańsk University of Technology, Poland

Dariusz Witt was born in 1968 in Gdynia (Poland). He graduated from the Gdansk University of Technology (GUT) in 1992. His PhD work in the group of Prof. Janusz Rachon at GUT was focused on the elucidation of reaction mechanisms of various classes of organosulfur and organophosphorus compounds. He obtained his PhD in 1996. From 1998 to 2000 he was a post-doctoral fellow in the group of Prof. Lyle Isaacs at the University of Maryland. After his Habilitation in 2010 he continued a research and in 2018 he became Full Professor of Organic Chemistry at the GUT, where he has remained ever since. His general research interests comprise organic chemistry at the interface to molecular self-assembly and nanotechnology. Special focus is placed on the various aspects of organic synthetic methodology based on the organophosphorus reagents.
