Rainer Streubel received his Ph.D. (1990) from the University of Bonn (Germany). He had a 1,5 year postdoctoral stay under the supervision of Prof. Dr. F. Mathey at the École Polytechnique in Palaiseau (France). He finalized his Habilitation in 1997, was “Privatdozent” (1997-2000) and served as “Außerplanmäßiger Professor” (2000-2003) at the Technical University of Braunschweig. In 2003 he was appointed as Full Professor at the University of Bonn; he is also affiliated with the University of St Andrews (UK) and the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa (USA). His current research interests include the development of synthetic methodologies, reactive phosphorus intermediates, strained P-heterocycles and aromatic P-heterocycles.
