23rd
International Conference on Phosphorus Chemistry

Częstochowa, July 5-9 2021

Dear Colleagues,

We take great pleasure in welcoming all of you as participants of the 23rd International Conference on Phosphorus Chemistry (ICPC-23), which is held from the 5th to 9th of July 2021 on line based on the digital infrastructure of the Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa, Poland. Our decision to host ICPC-23 online only has been forced by the current uncertainties related to the pandemic situation in the world, which excludes a real time conference or a hybrid meeting with a certain and sufficiently high number of participants.

For technical reasons the scientific program of the conference is limited to plenary and invited lectures delivered online and to a poster collection that is also available on the internet. We are able to organize ICPC23 as a virtual meeting because 10 plenary and 35 invited lecturers have accepted our invitation to deliver lectures online. Moreover, we are glad that over 140 poster presentations are an integral part of the scientific program, and over 200 participants from 23 countries have registered for our meeting.

We hope that, considering the collection of abstracts of plenary and invited lectures and poster presentations you will agree that ICPC-23 follows a long tradition started with the first conference held in 1964 in Heidelberg (Germany). Our hope comes from the fact that, as at previous ICPC meetings, diverse aspects of phosphorus chemistry are represented. Conference topics presented virtually in the form of lectures and posters can be divided into the following sections:
• Advanced Methods in the Synthesis of Phosphorus Compounds
• Theory, Mechanism, Stereochemistry and Reactive Phosphorus Intermediates
• Bioorganic and Medicinal Chemistry
• Phosphorus-based Catalysts in Organic Synthesis
• Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology
• Green Chemistry

We believe that your virtual participation and online presentation of your own achievements will be vital to the success of the Conference.

Enjoy your virtual visit to Częstochowa from July 5 to July 9, 2021.

Monday, July 5, the first day of the conference, is dedicated to the memory of Prof. Francois Mathey who passed away in December 2020. July 6, Tuesday, is dedicated to Prof. Jean-Pierre Majoral on the occasion of his 80th birthday, July 7, Wednesday, is dedicated to Prof. Masaaki Yoshifuji also on the occasion of his 80th birthday and July 8, Thursday, is dedicated to Prof. Takayuki Kawashima on the occasion of his 75th birthday
